Thursday, October 18. 20075.2.5RC1 Released for Testing
The first release candidate of 5.2.5 is now available for testing and can be downloaded from here:
http://downloads.php.net/ilia/php-5.2.5RC1.tar.bz2(md5sum: 2f0c9ecbd50213958e9b69ec69f715ec). This RC includes a fair number of fixes since our last release and predominantly works on improving the stability of the 5.2 tree as well as including a small number of minor security fixes. I'd like to ask everyone to test this release against your code and setups, we are aiming for a quick release cycle and user feedback is critical for a successful release. Trackbacks

I humbly suggest disabling the installed php.ini for the site when running tests. Having ignore_repeated_errors on breaks a lot of tests (especially the fscanf ones), so it ends up wasting time for both of us. You get a bogus report, and I have to run the thing again to send in a sane one.

since php-5.2.5.tar.bz2 is available on http://downloads.php.net/ilia/ since one day, I am wondering why there are even no 5.2.5 RC Windows builds available in http://downloads.php.net/edink/ And another question: because Johannes is now the release manager for PHP 5.2, shouldn't be there some entries in http://schlueters.de/blog/ and a download folder like yours: http://downloads.php.net/johannes/ ? The final Windows build (.msi) for 5.2.5 is broken. I kept getting this error message: The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate problem with this package. The error code is 2878. I have verified the file by checking the MD5 hash value and nothing wrong with the package. |
